The term “Black Friday” originated in Philadelphia in reference to the heavy traffic on that day. The Friday after Thanksgiving is when the traditional Christmas shopping season begins. Originating in Philadelphia, this is day shopaholics lose there collective minds. 2am, 3am, it doesn't matter, people will stand in line for an hour that early to get a Vespa for $49.
